- Small dogs 7 -10 lbs (Yorkshire terrier or Chihuahua) – 2-4 ounces (¼ – ½ cup) of food per day.
- Medium dogs 25 – 30 lbs (beagle) – 10- 12 ounces (1 ¼ – 1½ cup) of food per day.
- Large dogs 75-90 lbs (Boxer or German shepherd) – 30-36 ounces (3 ¾ – 4 ½ cups) of food per day
If feeding your dog twice a day be sure to half the daily amount. Remember your dog may need more or less than these amounts depending on their appetite.
Your dog will let you know how much food they need. If they are acting like they are hungry then you may need to give them more. One small piece of advice though, feed your dog at set times and try to avoid leaving food down all day.
